Fire in the High Fens
Worriken is not affected by the evacuation. The beach will remain closed today due to the current situation.
Dear guests, and relatives and friends of guests currently staying in Worriken,
we would like to thank you very much for your concern.
However, we would like to clarify that, contrary to what is currently being suggested on various channels in Flanders and Wallonia, it is not the centre of Bütgenbach that has been evacuated, but only the districts of Leykaul and Küchelscheid in the municipality of Bütgenbach – which are located approximately 15 km from Worriken – as a precautionary measure due to heavy smoke.
Worriken itself is not affected by this evacuation.
The beach will remain closed today due to the current situation.
